The Short Films of Robert Wynne-Simmons

L'EREDITA DI DIAVOLO

Spoof horror shot at Castle Goring, Sussex, a gothic folly built for Percy and Mary Shelley, but which they never occupied due to the vagaries of the Mediterranean.

D.E.A.P. FILMS

A series of twelve short student comedies.

THE FUGITIVE

The film which set down the benchmark for my work. Jealousy and a fatal knife fight in the Brighton of the "Mods and Rockers" drive a teenager into a world of guilt and fear where reality and fantasy become confused.

THE FAR CRY (Drama/Documentary)

A poetic cry of horror at the U.S. draft for a (then) little publicised war in Vietnam.

THE JUDGEMENT OF ALBION

A visualisation of the prophecies of William Blake, reflected in the London of the present day.

LONDON SKETCHES

Studies of alienation in the city.

A JOURNEY OUT OF HELL (Extract)

A segment of a feature film documenting a fateful year in the life of the poet John Clare, in which he escaped for a brief while from the mental asylum in which he spent the greater part of his creative life, and tried to connect with an ordinary world made extraordinary by his delusions.

DOUBLE PIQUET

A tourist at an Irish country house finds himself transported back in time to the scene of a cold-blooded murder at the card table.

SCHERZO

A night in the life of a small boy, visualised from the Scherzo in Gustav Mahler's Seventh Symphony.
